It was announced just lately the entire “Star Wars” catalog is being edited for a release of “Star Wars” 3-dimensional run. Digital 3-dimensional formatting is going to get applied to each “Star Wars” motion picture within the series. The first film should be released in theaters in the year 2012. The films are coming out in chronological order. The first released could be “Episode 1,” and the original trilogy could be released after the prequel trilogy.
Almost time to watch ‘Star Wars’ in 3-dimensional
. The biggest hits in the last few years are “Avatar” and “Clash of the Titans.” These were both launched in two dimensions and three dimensions. Now the technology is available, George Lucas and Industrial Light and Magic have decided to give “Star Wars” the 3-dimensional treatment. The job won’t be rushed. The Telegraph reports Lucas film saying this. The series will be much better in three dimensional versions after every single detail has been made 3-d.
Can easily see the first one in 2012
”Episode 1: The Phantom Menace” will be the very first “Star Wars 3-D” movie to be launched. The series can be launched within the chronological order of the story. There is no exact launch date set yet. 2012 is the year the company is heading for. It is just a goal though. The Hollywood Reporter tells us that 3-d engineering is something George Lucas may nevertheless need to be confident of. The movie “Avatar” is what changed him. That is when his mind totally changed. There isn’t any word on how long it could be between releases.
Getting theaters up to speed
There aren’t too many theaters that have 3-D capabilities right now. However, 500 are adding 3-D capable projectors per year. More films are being released in 3-D meaning more theaters try to get it. It is not known whether “Indiana Jones” or the “Clone Wars” DVD series will get 3-d updates for theatrical release.
